What is Radiant Ready?
Wirsbo offers options to make Radiant Floors a reality for different situations and budgets. Radiant Ready simply means installing the tubing during construction, before the concrete is poured. This way, your home is "pre-tubed" and ready to provide you with radiant comfort.
In a Radiant Ready installation, flexible and durable PEX tubing is installed in the slab-on-grade basement or lower level before the concrete is poured. A warm Radiant Ready basement increases the useable square footage of the home without causing a concern for the homeowner over dual systems for heating and cooling. A small investment converts the basement from a cold, damp, uninviting space to a warm,cozy, livable space.
What is Comfort Conditioning?
Take the chill out of cold tile, marble, and wood floors with Wirsbo Comfort Conditioning. If you have a Radiant Ready basement, but forced air throughout the rest of your house, you can still warm the uncomfortable, cold-floor areas with Comfort Conditioning. The system, already installed in your basement, can be extended to warm the floors in kitchens, bathrooms and entry halls to make them barefoot cozy.
When a Radiant Ready basement has already been installed, the investment for floor conditioning is minimal. This option increases the homeowner's exposure to the benefit of Radiant Floors, and further demonstrates its efficiency factor.

Concrete Floors
In lower levels, basements and garages, Wirsbo PEX tubing is tied to the reinforcing mesh before the slab is poured.

Poured Floor Underlayment
Wirsbo PEX tubing is installed over suspended wood floors and covered with poured floor underlayment.Concrete Floors. |

Suspended Floors
Wirsbo PEX tubing is placed over the sub-floor. The tubing rests in heat transfer plates. This is an alternative to lightweight concrete and is excellent for remodeling projects or additions. |
Between the Joists
Wirsbo PEX tubing can be installed between the floor-joists. Between the joist heating is perfect for remodeling projects, additions and for heating the upper floors of your new home. |
